Early Start and Arrival

Woke up this morning in our Malaga apartment – home for the next while. It was an early start yesterday with a 5 am wake up call at the Leonardo Heathrow Hotel ….. so had my longest lie-in today in years!

The Leonardo was a good choice for a pre-flight stay. Clean, comfortable and with a relaxing bar to start reflecting on the upcoming adventures. It is true to say that the 5 am start did leave me in a state of somewhat discombobulation. Heathrow T5 was as thronging and throbbing as ever, so was glad to be airborne!

The Airbnb is up a steep hill, with lovely mountain views. More on the apartment to follow as it is definitely work in progress to make it liveable for us. But it is a good space and, if last night’s sleep is anything to go by, comfortable.

We ended the night with a wander down to the city centre. Malaga’s Christmas Lights are truly stunning. Three times a day, they sparkle even more with a sequenced musical and light extravaganza which is joyous. My first attempt to video a section of this was not a success, so watch this space. I don’t think any iPhone movie could quite capture it, mind. Magical. Feliz Navidad.
