Fog and ice

Taking a temporary leave of our Spanish hideaway involved an early start and an Uber ride with Pablo to Malaga airport. Pablo was not the chatty sort – “si” and “de nada” being the only words uttered throughout the twenty minute ride. It was the start of a long day, but one where everything went to schedule.

Putting the watch back an hour as our Ryanair flight dropped us on to the tarmac at Dublin airport, we grabbed a sandwich with Niall before the two and half hour bus ride to Galway. I’ve been listening to Boy George reading his new book, Karma so the time went quickly.

In Galway, we’ve been catching up with family and friends. It has been lovely, but wow …. the change in temperature is a shock to the system! The night before we left Malaga, it was the first proper rain in weeks. Thunder, lightening and a deluge of rain. But it was all over quite quickly, the fine weather no doubt returning as we lifted off. Here in Ireland, it has been icy, foggy and cold. But, it’s great to be back here again even for a short stopover.
