Feels like coming home

After a lovely few days in Ireland and back in the UK, we packed our bags for the return to Spain. Part Two of our Spanish Hibernation! Arriving back at our Airbnb in Malaga, it happily felt like we were coming home. So much so, we dropped the bags indoors and went out straightaway to a local bar for drinks and tapas.

The journey back here, all went very smoothly. Train from Reading to Gatwick was on time and uncrowded. Our BA flight was jammed, but left on time and arrived promptly. Remarkably, our fellow passengers seemed quite subdued although …. there was a group of ladies in front of us who seemed to have everything from the Nando’s menu in a huge bag and were still chomping on corn on the cobs as we taxied to the runway!!

Because the flight was full, we were able to check our hand luggage into the hold. Happily this arrived with us and we jumped into a cab back to the apartment.

The bar we found ourselves in is beside one we have been going to quite often. Our “regular” local was closed, so we slid in nextdoor. The food was very good – big selection of tapas, great prices for large portions. The place was very busy. A partido de futbol was getting underway on the tv screens. Real Madrid and Barcelona facing off in the Spanish Supercup final – or something like that! The whole bar was 100% in to it!! In a very Spanish way! Let’s just say it would not have been a good place for a quiet glass of wine that night!!

The forecast for this week predicts some rain, but it still feels warm enough to take a coffee on the balcony, should the fancy take me. It’s good to be back.
